what a day!

Well today the alarm clock woke me at 6am, reminding me that my lil girlie was to go back to school. It would not have been so bad if things seemed more positive. I tried to mask the heavy black circles under my eyes, and failed. My boots broke, so had to use the only pair to hand, also broken but not as bad. Finally, I went to make my lil girlie and hubby toast only to discover the bread was turning a lovely shade of green ick!! The school run was cold but going into town to do some light shopping (including bread) and managed to find a few small bargains in the sales. Home for the night now and trying to get warm before the next 6am wake up call!!

First post of 2012!!

Happy New Year!!

The old year has been and gone. The coming year is sure to bring many surprises to us all. Everyone always says the year that has passed was not great and the new one will be a better one. I humbly beg to differ. The events of the previous year have helped to shape us make us who we are for the coming year.

So, what have I learned from last year that I can take into the new??

• Everything must be done on MY time and nobody elses. I have been pushed and pulled into doing things that do not make me happy. It MUST stop now!!
• My health is important, no matter what seemingly insignificant ailment comes my way.
• I am in charge of my life, not somebody else!
• Doing crafts of any sort should be a relaxing experience, not a stressful one.
• I can do anything I set my mind and heart on.

Simple yet valuable lessons I shall carry with me into 2012.

Well, it's been awhile since my last blog entry. But now I'm back!! ^__^

I think I may have a cold coming as I got soaked through today. I'm not warming up quick enough even in my fleece pj's.

Hopefully I shall have loads to post soon. So until then ... ... ...

Todays triumph!!

Today I made my hubby's bithday cake for tomorrow. I made a giant cupcake!!!

Its a chocolate cake filled with chocolate and toffee marbled cream, topped with vanilla frosting and chocolate shavings ^__^

 This is the choc and toffee marbled cream in the cake before I add the top ^__^

VOILA!! Hubbys cake is complete ^__^ Lets hope he can resist it until tomorrow lol

What will today bring??

Well today I'm fighting lethargy in the quest for creative enlightenment. My aim is to draw a few pictures, finally finish knitting a scarf for my daughter and crochet a few granny squares for my blanket!! Somewhere along the line I must cook my veggie roast, make buttermilk pancakes and make some scoubidous with my daughter ^__^ . My work is never done lol
